Established in 1939, Cape Cod Weathervane Co. started in the basement of the company founder, Mr. John E. Bernier, Sr.

There, Mr. Bernier hand made small silhouette Cape Cod weathervanes to raise extra cash to help pay for medical expenses for one of his sons, stricken with Ceribral Palsy. His product was nicely made, affordable to most people, and quickly in demand. Requests for a source for a cupola to go with their new weathervane also evolved, and by 1950, Cape Cod Weathervane & Cupola Co. was in full operation at its new and present site on 78 State Road (Route 6) in North Dartmouth, MA.

Larger weathervanes and cupolas were added to the mail order catalog, and cupolas soon became the main operation of the company, thus the shortened name followed. Cape Cod Cupola Co. has remained a small and steadfast company throughout the second half of the past century.

John E. Bernier, Jr. and his wife have taken the helm since 1974. We have since added an additional 75 cupola models to our line, as well as an impressive portfolio of fine quality copper weathervanes and finials, thanks to two dedicated and talented young artisans.
